While for 13 years the ESWC (www.eswc.com) has been designed and has developed as the Electronic Sports World Cup, today it announced a new brand positioning with an expansion that encompasses all eSports worlds and content, more in line with the current market developments and the nature of its events.

"For several years now, ESWC events have actually been electronic sports conventions, bringing champions and fans together for tournaments and on-stage matches, as well as for special operations, game and technology presentations, conferences and parties", stated Matthieu Dallon, the creator of the ESWC and Oxent CEO. "Presenting the ESWC as a Convention will now enable Oxent to work more closely with game publishers' World Cups and Championships. In this way we also expect to increase the number of international events licenced under the ESWC brand, as we are more likely able to meet local criteria in terms of choice of games, tournament scheduling and format, brand sponsorship, and so on."
